Kevan Jones, author of Diamond Jubilee, “a great murder mystery” is running a Kindle Countdown until the 31st January 2016. He will be selling his book for just 99p until this date so bag your copy now.
About Kevan and what inspired him to write Diamond Jubilee:
Kevan took much of his inspiration from his surroundings in East Kent, especially in Dover, Deal and Sandwich. The story started to unfold at the Sandwich celebration of 2012 where Kevan identified a promising location for a murder in Market Street, while enjoying the performances of two bands with his son. It was at this point he got his pen out and the idea of Diamond Jubilee was born.
What follows will completely change your view of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert and the summer of 2012, as the darker side of Kent life is revealed by the author’s pen.
Brief synopsis (as per author description on Goodreads):
While the nation celebrates the Diamond Jubilee, in a small corner of east Kent, the killing of an elderly woman reveals the failings of society and a mystery spanning five decades. Diamond Jubilee is much more than a Police Procedural.

My own thoughts on Diamond Jubilee:
This book hits you immediately as soon as you start reading it. Really loved the investigator Matt and the pace in which the mystery was unravelled. This is a very authentic read when it comes to police procedures and murder investigation, but also delves beneath the surface and allows us into the minds of the characters. I look forward to further works by this author. Great debut that would make a great series of crime drama novels, and would transpose well to screen too.
